I've Done It.

It's official. I've caught Tell Me syndrome. What's Tell Me syndrome, you ask? Well, the Wonder Girls came out with a single several months back called Tell me. The song and the dance that goes along with hit has become a huge hit in South Korea, with people from all over learning it, dancing it in front of a video camera, and then posting the results on Youtube. And I, poor soul, am addicted.

The Wonder Girls - Tell Me Video

It's like a bad, but catchy 80's flashback. Oh, the horror.

5 Korean Girls dance to Tell Me

Nice outfits. Heh.

Korean Soldiers do Tell Me

Yes, evidently they really are in the Korean army. They guy front and center is really good, but I'm willing to bet he was beat up a lot in middle school for his girlish posture. $10 says he's gay/metrosexual.

Wonder Boys do Tell Me

This is what they mean when they say "Idle hands are the devil's tools." My ears are bleeding, but I'm laughing too hard to care. Damn highschoolers.

And here's the download:

Christmas. Spread the love, yo.

Here's a list of all the things you should and shouldn't do at Christmas. ^^ Created by Scon, Nigel, and Elle.

Don't spray your Christmas tree with hairspray. It might keep your christmas tree nice and green, but once your tree is burnt to a crisp, it won't be nice and green anymore.

Don't worry about eggnog. So what? 10,000 calories in each sip? Meh, who cares!

If it's Christmas eve, and you're on a MMORPG trying to get all the special rare Christmas items, it's prolly time to get off...

Don't go around telling little kids Santa doesn't exist. Because it's obvious he does! Who else would be stupid enough to tresspass into your house and steal cookies year after year after year...

In order to get what you want, say candy from a baby, keep saying how Santa is watching him and the kid will do anything. It's a piece of cake!

When shopping, be aggressive. Who cares if it's an old granny holding a baby? You want that limited addition lead lightsaber, so just push her out of the way. If you have to, beat her until she stops moving. She'll forgive you. It's the season of love right?

Don't eat the mistletoe. There's a reason it's up so high.

Those cute little ribbon bow things on your presents aren't' meant to be put in your hair. It'll hurt when you take them out. A lot.

Sing super loud when you sing Jingle Bells. Dance around a bit too. In fact, go into a super market, commandeer the speakers, and sing to the whole store. Spread the love!

Don't kill your evil poodle as a main dish for Christmas dinner. No matter how tempting it is...
Don't kill your in-laws over Christmas. That means that many fewer presents next year!

Don't ask Santa for a deathnote. It doesn't matter if you promise him you'll only kill criminals, he still won't give it to you. Besides, he keeps his deathnotes for himself.

Christmas is not, I repeat, NOT just a holiday American made up to increase economics. Who ever told you that, is a Scrooge.

NEVER visit the North pole to visit Santa. Even if you happened to survive the bitter cold, wild animals, exiled elves, and rabid reindeer, you'll never find Santa's lair. It's underground.

Santa doesn't surf on a snow board in California, so don't try to get a snapshot of him hanging ten. You'd have more luck waiting on your rooftop all night. In the snow...and possible rain, in the cold...at night...

Fruit cake doesn't go with anyone. Never give it away, because it'll come back. Like heartburn!

Don't drink too much "yummy eggnog". It's not good for your mental health. And NEVER go caroling drunk. It will turn out bad. Very bad.

Yellow snow is never good. Never.

Snowball fights are fun. Specially if your hide rocks in some of them.

Don't wait to go shopping, you'll end up in barnes and nobles, trying decide between the series of unfortunate events one and the rubber ducky one.

Santa NEVER gives puppies. Just give it up. Heck, you're never gonna get one.

Don't turn on the radio or the tv. All you're gonna hear is Jingle bells and It's a Wonderful Life. Over and over and over.

Be as bad as you can be though out the year. I mean have you ever met some one who did coal. You'll always get good stuff.

Hay, Guys!

Guess what! Music!
Please excuse the long delay for this post, I've been caught up in end-of-the-semester junk.

Name: Scott McCulloch
...And? This guy is his own one man band. It's amazing how complex his music actually is.
Check Out: Believe Me

Name: The Blackline
...And? A peppy and uniquely indie sound for a band with such satirical and almost angsty lyrics.
Check Out: Talk Talk Talk

One Semester of Spanish - Love Song

No remembro how to say "awesome."

Zelda After the Games

Some guys I know did this, and quite frankly, it's pure genius. "Shuddup. Just...Just shuddup."

Reel Time

Is the piece my friend and I performed, and people seem to find it enjoyable...So enjoy!

Save TV-Links!

I'm sure some of you are familiar with the popular site www.tv-links.co.uk. Well apparently, the owner of the site was arrested because TV-Links links to sites that host copyrighted content. Links not hosts. Apparently, the sites that do host the material [such as Google] have become so rich and powerful, that they are now above the law.
If linking to another site that hosts illegal content [and therefore, linking to a site that links to illegal content] is illegal, than essentially, the entire internet is illegal!

I'm asking you, please sign the petition to get TV-Links back up and running so I can go back to watching The Big Bang Theory and Cow and Chicken!

Do Something Useful, You Bum!

Free Rice

It's a vocabulary-based website. You give the correct definition of the word, and they give 10 grains of rice to someone in need. It's educational for you, and potentially life-saving for them. This thing proves how much of a nerd I am. I started doing it to help someone, but after a while, I noticed the vocabulary level, and now I'm hooked. I'm determined to try to get past level 48 [Approx. the highest anyone can make it without a dictionary] without cheating. I've only reached 38 so far. Bah, it's still higher than anyone else I know. Plus, it's more than 16,000 grains of rice.
:D
Epic win for me.

10 Most Amazing Guys

Psyche! I'm just messing with you. You didn't really think I was going to go into all of that, did you? Nah, I'm not that obscenely girly, although I will tell you about the Male Beauty thread on Gaia. [Heheh. Alex Kapranos was my suggestion. Tarkan is gorgeous, even though that picture of him isn't. Gackt is the prettiest old-man pretty boy I've ever seen.]

Actually, this is another indie band post, so feast your ears with these gems.

Band: Tacks, The Boy Disaster
Best Song: Frozen Feet
Final Say: Pleasantly repetitive. Tacks, The Boy Disaster manages to deliver everything in just the right moment, with out making you feel drugged-up and overdosed. [Fans of Kasabian, Phonograph, and One Ring Zero might enjoy this.]

Band: I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness
Best Song: According to Plan
Final Say: According to Plan is a more slow-paced song, complete with long, ringing melodies. The bass line is well timed, and the chorus is sure to get stuck in your head. [Fans of Franz Ferdinand, Minus the Bear, and Electrical Sunset might enjoy this.]

Band: Doug Walker
Best Song: Stranger Than Fiction
Final Say: With gorgeously distinctive vocals, and a hypnotizing use of instrumentals, Doug Walker sufficiently proves that he knows what he's doing when he comes to music. [Fans of American Vaudeville Theatre, Muse, and Crowded House might enjoy this.]

:D

So I'm standing in the middle of a roped-off section of the local park, the smell of cigarette smoke and beer heavy in the air, and I'm thinking to myself What the hell am I doing here? I can't answer myself. My face gets squashed into the porta-potty I'm standing next to as a group of drunk fifteen year olds trample me, trying to get a better spot. Just as I'm about to turn tail and leave, the lights dim, and I find myself surrounded in this envelope of music. Here I am, at the WZYP stage at the annual Big Spring Jam festival, watching Three Days Grace.

Okay, well I suppose I should start at the beginning. We actually arrived a litle less than halfway through Breaking Benjamin's performance. Ben kept asking everyone if we were doing okay, until he finally broke out a box of waterbottles, and just started hurling them at the crowd. Then they played a couple of songs. Then he talked about the release of Halo 3 [his IGN is "killemloud" If you find him, and beat him, you will officially be my new hero.] and how he gained about 3 pounds for each gamer point her earned, which led into Blow Me Away. He then got us to applaud for all the bands before them, and then for Three Days Grace. [Who was the headliner for the stage, and was to follow them.] They then started playing Animal I Have Become. Notice I said started. They finshed about fifteen seconds into the song, and just started laughing at how excited we all got. It was awesome and sad at the same time.

Well, then there's a period of about 20 minutes for set changes, and then BAM, Three Days Grace. Not surprisingly, they opened with Animal I Have Become, and the crowd went nuts. They played Get Out Alive and Never Too Late. Then they went into Riot, at which the whole front area turned into a mosh pit, complete with like...Four people crowd surfing at any one time. [It was rather interesting to see one guy fall face first into the dirt...] They ended up having a relatively short set compared to some of the other acts, but they had the entire crowd ecstatic, and they were amazing. If you get a chance to see these guys, do it. Period.

Mechanicsburg, PA

Mechanicsburg, PA. Tell me that is not one of the coolest city names you've ever heard of, honestly. Bah, whatever. This is a random video post, so enjoy.

Chris Crocker?

If you haven't seen/heard of this video yet, you probably live in a cave, but that's okay. This is some die-hard Britney fan ranting for her sake, and yes, he is completely serious.

Seth Green Says Leave Chris Crocker Alone

This is amazing. I love Seth Green, and now I love him even more. The whole bit about platform pumps was amazing, as well. And because of this video, I'm compelled to watch Robot Chicken. Nonstop.

Awwe...They broke it.

"Human" Single Cover!

Yep. That's it. The thing is supposed to hit shelves October 1st, and is supposedly already available for purchase in the Canadian iTunes store. The cover looks a tad fan-made, but she looks nice.

And on the subject of Human, you guys really gotta request it! [Not sure how/where? Here. No, you don't have to be Canadian to request.] We need to request tons to make this upcoming an album a success! Soldiers, out!

Now We All Have Horns

I've been neglecting this blog. How...Sad. Anyways, I've got another album for you guys to check out. Some of you may remember I posted about a band called A Brief Smile a while back. Well, they've got a new album coming out on October 2nd called "Now We All Have Horns." [You can listen to it here.] I asked the guys a few questions about the upcoming album:

Villains Are People Too: The cover art is rather unusual. Care to explain?
DL: Well. There is a horn in there if you look carefully. Our friend Miles Gilbert (milesgilbert.org) did the art for the record. He had recently done a flyer for us that was heavily inspired by Wurm, and we wanted to do something similar to the flyer for the cover of the record. It was fun to dig up all of those sweaters, now we have a great collection.

VAPT: Both the sound and the look of this album is quite different from R.E.S.T. What inspired this?
John: from "r.e.s.t." there was a kind of escape in the tracks that went more inward than outward and with "now we all have horns" we're really stretching out towards the environments we found ourselves in. hence the more natural looking, more nature oriented, more free aesthetic of the record as a whole. we're still striving for the whole grand without being grandiose thing but the message is somewhat more soothing now that we've matured...like a whole year.

VAPT: What's your favorite song off the album, and why?
Jared: Tairs In The Cloth; I like the way it flows from start to finish and the really contrasting sections. I think the recording of that one came out really well.
Louie: Electric Willows and Tairs In The Cloth came out well. Both of the songs have perfect moods. They feel great. I'd write
more but I don't want to reveal how much I like our music.
DL: At the moment, it is "Hold Tight, Electric Willows." It's always fun to play it live because it's got a different tuning and I really like how it came out on the record.
John: my favorite song off of the record might have to be 'electric willows'. it just a really powerful song that launches you like a crazed hyperdrive and then folds into a drowning fractal of your greatest fears.
Garrett: Probably The Sky Will Crack; I spent many hours trying to figure out how to work with the harmony of that song.

Water, Water, Everywhere...

But not a drop to drink. This, my friends, is a themed music post. The theme, you ask? Water. Why? Because I can. [Remember: If you want the mp3, simply right-click song title, and select "Save Target As."]

Band: Jaws
Song: Let it Ride SSL Mix Demo
What I say: Song name's a mouthful, eh? Ha, anyways...Jaws is a band I found completely by accident. What a happy accident, I must say.

Band: Oceans Firing
Song: Prizefighting
What I say: Yet another band I found by complete accident, these guys are really quite good. I had Prizefighting as my myspace song for a while, and figured I'd pass it on to you fellows.

Band: Let's Go Sailing
Song: Sideways
What I say: This song is mellow and nice; considerably calmer than what I normally listen to. It's a nice change of pace, and is definitely something to give a listen to.

And in other news, the Random Click Analysis is fantastic. My best score is 84. This pointless little time waster uses a computer's superior ability to decpher patterns. The less patternized the clicks, the higher the score. I'm either really random, or highly scientific. Both, perhaps?

Geeks/Nerds should get dates too, article raves.

In a 2005 article...well, read for yourself.

----------------------------------------------------

1.) While geeks and nerds may be awkward, they’re well-meaning 9 out of 10 times. That smooth dude with the sly grin and the spider hands? Wonder what HIS intentions are... plus, I’ve never had a geek guy not call me when he said he would. Score major points THERE.

2.) They’re useful. In this tech-savvy world, it’s great to have a b/f who can make your laptop, desktop, and just about anything else that plugs into a wall behave itself.

3.) They’re more romantic than they’re given credit for. Ok true, their idea of romance might be to make up a spiffy web-page with all the reasons why they love you, with links to pics of you and sonnets and such... but hey. It lasts longer than flowers, plus you can show your friends.

4.) Due to their neglected status, there are plenty to choose from. You like ‘em tall and slender? There are plenty of geeks/nerds who are. You like ‘em smaller with more meat on their bones? Got that too.

5.) They’ve got brains. Come on now, how can intelligence be a bad thing?

6.) Most are quite good at remembering dates. Like birthdates and such, especially if they know it’ll make you happy. Due again to their neglected status, they’re more attentive than guys who “have more options”. Plus, with all that down time without a steady girlfriend, they’ll likely have mental lists of all the things they’d love to do once they GOT a girlfriend.

7.) Sex. Yep. Sex. I’m not really familiar with this myself, but I’ve friends who’ve been intimate with geek guys and it’s raves all around. They say a virgin wrote the Kama Sutra... all that time thinking about sex, imagining sex, dreaming about sex, (they are male after all) coupled with a desire to make you happy? Use your imagination.

8.) They’re relatively low-maintenance. Most can be fueled on pizza, Twinkies and Mt Dew. No complicated dinners needed here, so if you’re not the best cook, eh. Can you order a pizza?

9.) Most frequent bars as often as slugs frequent salt mines. You won’t have to worry much about your geek guy getting his “groove” on with club hotties because, frankly, he’ll be too busy rooting around under his computer wondering where that spare cable went. You won’t have to worry about him flirting with other women because, 9 out of 10 times, he’ll zip right by them in a perfect b-line towards the nearest electronics store. I’ve seen this happen.
Me: “Eww. Victoria Secret’s Models... They’re so skinny. How is that feminine? You can see her ribs!”
Geek Guy: “ooooooo...”
Me: “Hey!” *notices he is staring lustfully towards the computer store*
Geek Guy: “What?”
Me: “Never mind...”

10.) Although he may not want to go to every outing with you, you can arrange swaps, as in, you’ll go to his Gamer Con dressed as an elf princess if he’ll take you to the ballet. Plus, if he doesn’t want to go someplace with you, you won’t have to worry much about what he’s up to. You’ll probably come home to find him asleep on his keyboard in a sea of Mt. Dew cans with code blinking from the screen. It’s ok. He’s used to this. Just toss a blanket over him and turn out the light.

11.) His friends aren’t jerks. I can’t stress this enough. You’ll more likely get “Omg! A GIRL!! Can I see?!” than “Hey hot stuff back that ass up here and let me get some grub on...” They’re awkward geeks too and will, 9 times out of 10, treat you with the utmost respect and, more than likely, a note of awe. A cute girl picked one of their clan to date? It could happen to them! Hope! Drag some of your single girlfriends over, open up a pack of Mt. Dew, crack open the DnD set and get working. Nothing impresses geek guys more than a girl who can hack-n-slash (well ok maybe if she can code... a geek can dream).

12.) They’re rarely if ever possessive. They trust you, so you can be yourself around them. You like to walk around the house in a ratty t-shirt for comfort? He won’t care. He does too! They won’t get pissy if you don’t wear make-up or don’t want to bother primping your hair. If you gain a few pounds, they won’t try their best to make you feel like crap.

13.) They’re usually very well educated. Physics majors and the like. See #5. You won’t have to listen to him blathering on about his car (ok maybe a little), he’ll have loads of other interesting things to talk about. Politics, world events, how much the chicken burgers down at the local place rock, so long as you douse them in hot sauce...

14.) You’ll almost never have to hear, “Yaw dawg whazzap!!” plop out of their mouths. Unless it’s in jest. They spell properly, use correct punctuation, and are able to tell the difference between the toilet and the floor. They almost never get “wasted”, so you won’t have to worry about coming home to find him and his friends passed out on the floor amidst a pile of beer bottles. Mt. Dew cans, perhaps...

15.) And the final reason why geeks and nerds make great boyfriends: They actually give a damn about you. Not how you look (though that’s a plus), not how skinny you are, not how much make-up you primp yourself up with, but they like you for you. That kind of thing lasts longer than “DaMN baby you got a fine ass!!!” Believe me.

You've just been enlightened on how nerds make great dates. Aren't you happier? xD
No youtube video today. This post is already long enough.

Clip of "Human" Released!

Human - Skye Sweetnam
I didn't figure you'd much need a download, because it's only a clip, but give it a listen, anyways. I'm not so crazy about it (it's too pop for me, it makes me think Hannah Montana), but I'm still ecstatic. It's Skye news, which is what we're all looking for. There's speculation that it'll be the first single off of the new album, but to be honest, I really hope not. I'm personally much more fond of things like Into Action and Bring It Back. At least I have the comfort of knowing that Skye is an artist of good variety, and I'll probably be thrilled with the rest of the album.

Blackle!

Blackle
Blackle. Heh. That's so much fun to say...
Anyways, it's supposedly a more environmentally friendly version of Google. The idea is that white text on a black backound uses less energy than black text on a white backround. The search engine is actually google, and all the search results are (supposedly) exactly the same. And you know what? That means this blog is more environmentally friendly than all of our white backround-ed counterparts. Can I get a "boo-yah"?
No? Oh, okay.

EDIT: Don't like Blackle? Try Ninja.com. It's an energy conserver and a deadly secret weapon! Hi-ya!

Wireless Thugz
So last time, I added a side note about Alltel sponsoring the "official man cave" website. Now, may I present to you...The Wireless Thugz! This is spawning into one of the greatest marketing ploys since the first arrival of the Geico cavemen. Which really wasn't that long ago....
Anyways, watch the music video, for it is officially the greatest thing my eyes have ever laid eyes on.

I gotzors a new MMORPG.

Wooh! Scon has gotten me Guild Wars! Now I have another game to be addicted to. Only scon will be able to pester and pester me about it. In more ways than one. Sounds like complete and utter fun. If you play Guild Wars, IGN is "Fullmetal Panda". Not that anyone would care.

On a lighter note, my birthday is in 4 days. Not that anyone would care. Again.

NEWay, the random blog post must come with a random youtube video(s). Next post I'll try to actually post something that people will care about.

NPR plays music?!

NPR plays music! No wai! Yep, you heard me right. I've been listening to it via the internet (npr.org), and have heard a number of bands I would not have otherwise discovered. Here are some favorites:

Phonograph
Download you must have: In Your Mind
I say: These guys call themselves a folk rock band. Although I think the sound is more folk than what we're used to in the age of the emos, it's definately got all of the soul of rock. I want to say it's...Nostalgic, almost?

Rebuilding the Rights of Statues
Download you must have: Hang the Police
I say: These guys are geniuses. They figured out how to have anti-establishment lyrics in a country like China. That says something, right there. Their sound is...Hard to describe. I want to say angsty, but that's not entirely accurate. The guys (and girl) make good music, either way.

One Ring Zero
Download you must have: International Astronomical Union
I say: These guys have a great sound. It's unique, catchy, and well executed. Cheers to them! (One of the band mates actually made an album full of songs specifically for Ice Cream Trucks. Makes me think of the old creep from Family Guy.)

And in other news, The Man Cave is the most ingenious marketing technique since...Well...A long time. I love Alice...She's adorably vicious.

That's Caveman Discrimination!

ABC Developing "Caveman"
I meant to post this ages ago, but better late than never, right? Right. Anyways...What the hell? I hate those commercials! Why are they turning it into a TV show to further encourage the statement "There's never anything good on"?!
Meh. It suxx0rrz if you ask me, but as long as I'm not being strapped to a chair, being forced to watch it, I think I'll be okay.
But that'll probably be next. Geico is after mind-control, after all.

Ehow.com

Ehow.com
I looked up some good stuff from this site. I now know exactly how to give emo guys presents, how to be both emo and goth (gothmo) at the same time, how to let out my anger on a paper, how to make a lion dance for Chinese couples, and how to get rid of tapeworms. This really rocks. I want to find a site on how to give a present to a dancing lion who's angry because he's goth and has tapeworms.

Does this make me an addict?

67%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?
Heh. Well...It's not so bad. And considering my posts aren't a daily thing, I think that would make this a healthy relationship. Much better than my last one. My readers were just so darn clingy.

ClickClickClick
US is only ranked 15th?! What?! Oh well...I've had it set to auto-click for the past 5 minutes, and I'm not stopping it 'till I go to bed tonight. USA! USA!

1337

Hey dudes and dudettes, this is Forty_Feet_Under again! We've got another writer joining our ranks...So everyone welcome Scon! *claps*

hoW to Be A 1337 cHaa77oRs explained by Scon.

There are no rules. If you are unsure how to sound elite when typing because you're a noob, just do something weird like these examples or combinations of a few.

1. Capitalize at random. A little time consuming but it works like a charm. Example: duDe, i'M a ChATTer beCAUse I cApItaLize rANdoMlY, nOOb.

2.Replace certain letters. Example: If you can get used to it, then you're a pro. Example: 1 bet 1m l1ke t0tally $crew1ing y0u up.

3. Write backwards. Very hard yet very impressive. Example: Em understand even you can?
Spell horrible. The best way to look like you have been typing on MMORPGs for a long time. Example: imma so kewl bcaze i typ bady so im must b a awsum person

4. Refuse the act of spaces. It confuses people but it will earn you a lot of "leet" respect. Exaple: IneverpassedfirstgradebecauseIc
an'tspelltosavemylife.

5. Abbreviate everything. Example: i pwn b/c i don't spell + BTW i even do this in rl.LOL

6. Block out half the things you are saying. Most chat rooms block profanity so if you use * or - it will look as though you're a cool cussing maniac. Example: u---- ---- ill ------ the----!!! ------!

7. If you are completely unsure how to speak 1337 or English, try typing at random. It looks the same.
Example: ksahf293yrdsnvvfzp9127tdv8sg50df9nhgj4e!>?2ws98vlk981@#?erhy$!@hfgj^fhygeryt#$khriu9!!!!!!!

(Translation: I speak 1337 so well that I can do that.)

Bring It Back, Now!

Oh. My. God. Skye has put Bring it Back on her myspace. That's right. The album version. I think I'm having a panic attack...Or something like that. Either way, my head is spinning in amazement. This song is pretty different from what we're used to from Skye, but I like it regardless. Between that classic (and catchy) drumbeat, and Skye's hypnotic vocals, it's one song that's above and beyond the mainstream. Which I like.

All the nerds in da house say LOL

Hallo all! This is Forty_Feet_Under introducing you to our newest hostage/writer, FullPlastic Alchemist! Yayyyy!

Hey random internet pplz, I'm a new person! YAY!

Eheheh...I ran out of things to say already. There should totally be a villains' rights movement or something! So...... How's the weather?

Ever wondered what would happen if you talked on your phone during a concert?

That would teach him to silence your cell phone...and don't make any calls either.

Have I mentioned that Fullmetal alchemist is a totally cool anime? Now I really have no more things to say. I shall search the internet for inspration!
Until next time!

Geeks, Nerds, and Freaks...Oh my!

I'm sick and tired of people confusing them. So read this and feel enlightened.

Dork: Anyone who is socially inept. Anyone who is unsure how to carry themselves in public. Dork are most often shy and/or wallflowers.

Nerd: Anyone who is passionate about learning/academics. Anyone who is constantly seeking to further their education, even outside of school. Grammar Nazis and history buffs can both be considered nerds. Nerds are often dorks, but not always.

Geek: Anyone who is extrememly passionate about anything other than learning/academics. Again, geeks are usually dorks, but there are exceptions. Geek obsessions can range from band, to Star Trek, to anime. Yes, anime, even if they do refer to themselves as "freaks."

Freak: Anyone who is seen as strange and/or unusual. Anyone who fits outside of the norm. Punks, goths, and emos are often categorized as "freaks," along with nerds and geeks.

Now that we have that out of our systems...Random time!

The Official Ramen Homepage

Hahahaha. I love it. That's my kind of productivity.

Good Lord....

So we all know Harrison Ford and Shia LeBeouf are starring in the fourth Indiana Jones, right? Well, apparently this won't be the last in the series. Shia LeBeouf has signed a four film deal as Indy's son. So you figure Ford'll be done with series? I think not. He's sign a three picture deal. Crazy, crazy stuff.
((Read the rest here.))

EDIT: Er...It's seems as though it's already being denied. But then again....Lots of things have been that turned out to be true...So you never know.

Ha. Ha. Ha.
Clever.

Strangest idea ever. But it'd be a great prank type thing. Pull a pack of these outta your back pocket, drop one into some hot water, let it steep, and sip away. It's a brilliant April Fools Day prank...Unless you're not old enough to legally smoke...Then you'd have quite a bit of explaining to do.

Sound Soldier T-Shirt!

So if this post seems familiar, this shirt'll make sense. I actually made this several weeks ago...And I haven't even worn it yet. I've been waiting for the tea to set in (I used extra-strength, double-steeped tea for the brown-red). It turned out fairly well, I think.

((Remember! I'm looking for another writer! Leave a comment or send me an IM/email if you're interested!))

DCI

So we went to see DCI Top 8 up in Tennessee last night. The shows were amazing, as expected...But the Cadets got ripped off. Here are the scores from last night.

How the placings should have been.

8. Dark Knights - Okay, they were one of my favorite shows of the night, but their performance simply wasn't as good as the others. So even though I think their show was entertaining, they definately have work to do in the technical aspects.

7. Carolina Crown - These guys have a great hornline. Period. But to be honest, their percussion stinks. That's really something they need to work on, 'cause if they had better percussion, they'd probably be top 3.

6. Santa Clara Vanguard - Andrew and I hadn't considered this placing (because they had previously been placing better than the Bluecoats), but after they announced it, we couldn't say we completely disagreed. Although there is a definate reason why their scores are so close. The two were both great.

5. Bluecoats - Okay, another I'm agreeing with. The Bluecoats had a fantastic show. Their theme ("Criminal") was very creative, and all parts of their show fit very well. The colour guard actually came out in orange jumpsuits and handcuffs, and he Bluecoats uniforms are naturally very cop-ish, so it was cool.

4. Blue Devils - That's right. They did not deserve to be first. I could settle for them being third, maybe, but not first. Everyone around us booed when they announced BD first (Okay...Maybe just me). Their show was neither memorable, nor classic Blue Devils. It was all kind of a strange blur.

3. Phantom Regiment - As much as I adore Phantom, I have to say they deserved third. I loved their music (as usual), and I think it was all tied together fairly nicely. These guys have a bit of cleaning to do, not to mention Andrew and I both said we didn't think the show in general was "first place material."

2. The Cavaliers - I admit. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like their show, but I was proved wrong. So although this definately wasn't their best show, it definately wasn't their worst. The music was good for the most part, but some places didn't sound like music that belonged on a field. And I disliked their colour guard uniforms, even if they did match the show theme well.

1. The Cadets - That's right. We were pretty skeptical going in, especially since we had heard there would be narration, but it was phenomenal. We had all kind of expected something similar to the past two years show, but this was totally different. The drill was probably more difficult than the Cavvies drill, and the narration balanced - even completed - the music, as opposed to overpowered it. Plus the narration spoke to the band geek in all of us. It was more than a jock or a cheerleader could understand. We all had our jaws hanging open when it was through.

50th post!

So...Uh...Happy 50th post to me?
And I am announcing that I am searching for a witty co-writer to help me update this blog more frequently...So drop me a line if you're interested!

Anyways. It also happens that this post falls on 7/11. It's like...A national gas station holiday, or something. In fact, 7-11 is Actually giving out free slushies today. Too bad I'm not even sure where the nearest 7-11 is.

In other, slightly older 7-11 news, several of them have been converted into Kwik-E-Marts in order to promote the new Simpsons movie (Out on the 27th).

Irritating Game
Haha. That's the name. No joke. It's crazy hard, but so addicting. And for any of you incompetant fools like me, there's a flag in the bottom left corner that translates it into English. So you don't have to run all of the results through google translate like I did...

Korea, Korea, Korea!

So I've somehow sucked myself back into the whole Korean obsession thing again. So I've hunted down a few Korean bands. And several korean videos...And I'm trying to teach myself to speak Korean again...And once again I'm proving how much I suck at this whole second language business. But whatever. Here's my report of the weeks events.

BANDS

Band: Witches
Best Song: There She Is
Why: It's kind of old school Korean music mixed with modern alternative. I luff it.
Worst Song: Go Beach
Why: The beginning is odd, and the sound is just....Not my style.
Other Comments: I've only just ordered their 2nd album, and I can't find their first one ANYWHERE (if you have one you'd like to sell, you'd be my eternal best buddy...). Oh, check out Chocolate. I really like that one as well.

Band: Code Y
Best Song: Island
Why: The guitar in this is perfect. It's very deliberate, and is reminiscent of good metal music. I guess.
Worst Song: Motel Blue Moon
Why: The music is great, but the vocals ruin it, if you ask me.
Other Comments: This band has talent...But slow doesn't really work for them. It feels like it's dragging them down...

VIDEOS

There She Is - Witches

Loveitloveitloveit. Watch for the puppy at 3:05. Oh, and a guy in emo glasses, a scarf, and a polka dot shirt. I'm one happy camper.

Cute McDonalds Commercial

Aww. What a cute little kid. Not to mention they say McDonalds funny.

Banana Milk Commercial

That little girl is seriously freaky. But the commercial is funny. Yayy for monkeys.

Colbert Report & Rain

So technically it's an American video...But c'mon! It's Stephen Colbert in giant sunglasses talking about Hyundais!!! And him throwing the TIME magazine? Girliest throw ever.

Blue Screen of Death

Heheh. So, my dad is a mild-mannered computer geek, right? 'Cause y'know, he works for a computer company and whatnot. Well anyways, I downloaded this Blue Screen of Death screensaver, and set it as mine, and when my dad saw it, he freaked. "Ahhh! Blue screen of death!!! What did you do to your computerrr!" And my response? I went over and pressed a key, and bam. It went away. "Nooo. It's a screensaver I downloaded. Shweet, eh?" and then he stared at me like he always does. Heheh...

Speaking of my father giving me weird looks, I finally went out and got some new CDs. I got Queens of the Stone Age's "Era Vulgaris" and Modest Mouse's "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank". What does this have to do with my father? He hates my music, that's what. Didn't help that the first song he heard offa either album was "March Into Sea" by MM...Psychotic laughter is not a good way to impress an already skeptical father....But I did like both albums....I even got Sick, Sick, Sick as my ringtone. Heheh. That'll be fun to explain on the phone bill...

Anyways. Click-eds the link for the Blue Screen -O- Death Screensaver. Click me!

My Obscure Bands of the Week

I've been music hunting again. I found some more indie gems worth checking out. So...Enjoy!

Band: Fake Problems
Best Song: Real Problems in SRQ
Why: I love the vocals in this song. The first 35 seconds or so were distinctive, and I like that.
Worst Song: Degree'd or Denounced
Why: His voice just doesn't fit the song, in my opinion.

Band: Stars Below
Best Song: Atrophy
Why: The overall sound is amazing. I honestly don't have any problems with this song. At all. It's a miracle.
Worst Song: Take Me Home
Why: The sound (especially the chorus) overall is just kind of cliche.

Band: A Brief Smile
Best Song: This Machine
Why: The chorus, although repetitive, is addicting.
Worst Song: Count Me Out
Why: The slower sound just doesn't work for them.

Band: A Block of Yellow
Best Song: Helping Juliana
Why: It's got an oldies feel to it, which I love. The chorus made me want to dance like a little girl. Which although that should never happen, I liked anyways.
Worst Song: Do they have one? No. All their songs made me giggle uncontrollably.

Random Videos

Popeye Vs Anime

"Popeye, I'm serious. Get. Help." I honestly don't know what to say about this...It's...Strange.

Spongebob in China

Ahahahaha. That's horrible. I love Patricks anti-communism. Stupid thought police.

Exams

So the video quality is horrible...But it's still hilarious. It's genious. If the teacher didn't know my name, I'd try it...But it's hard to not have your name when yours is most frequently called on. Hrmph.

Pirates Main Theme

So really the song itself isn't all that impressive. But the guy has mastered the art of percussive sounds on the guitar. Which I must say, I have not...Because I play an electric guitar. But anyways, he recorded all guitar parts himself, even though you only see lead. He's gotta be awesome. I mean...Look at his shirt.

Zippo "Twilight Zone" Lighter Trick

Sound Soldier #1284 Reporting!

So I was perusing the SSF today, when I stumbled upon a thread boardie EvaEvaGirl wrote. In it, she mentioned how she wrote "Sound Soldier #1545" on her hat (it's her member number). She said it's apparently both a good promotion tool & a good conversation starter. It's also apparently a big hit with other boardies, because a number of them have said they wanted to use that idea on shirts, hats, and even shoes. So if you aren't already a member, sign up now so you can get your soldier number and start promoting!

*throws confetti*

So, if any of you care, today is my bestest buddy's birthday. Which means she's still 2 months older than me. Curses! But so yhea. This will be the millionth time I've wished her happy birthday...But that's a good thing, right?

It appears as though I've been lacking significantly in posting because I've been addicted to Gaia Online lately. Which is kind of odd, considering how much I hate really huge forums like that. And stranger yet, I've been spending most of my time with Chatterbox posts, and that's a thread with lots of...well...junk (no worries. My posts are avi art posts). That, and the slots. How addicting. Heheh. I even bought June's monthly collectibles. Boy, I have a problem here.

Tom Mabe Funny Phone Call

That is amazing. I'm soooo gunna try that one day. Except maybe the part about the Mexican Midget...That's a little weird.

Potato Lighter

I wonder what'd happen if you just built an entire mound of cotton on top...

Franz Ferdinand Glasgow Gig Bootlegs

Tufty of Tea with Tufty made some recordings from FFs recent gig at the Grand Ole Opry in Glasgow. So enjoy, mates.

(Although I must say. English Goodbye disappointed me a bit. It's still good, but I expected more from a song Alex labeled as one of his favourites...Oh well. Favourite Lie is amazing, though.)

((If the bootlegs are no longer on the front page, just check the June 2007 archives. They're right there.))

Imposter at Stanford

High School Graduate pretends to be a Stanford Student

......
I genuinely don't know what to say to that, other than that is extremely frightening. Shouldn't somebody notice? And wouldn't her parents object to her buying books that she would never need (especially considering the price of books)? That is just wrong on so many levels. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go bolt all my windows shut.

More randomly fun stuff

Zamzar
A handy little file conversion site. But it won't convert m4a files. Accursed iTunes files.

Persacon
Persacon is fast approaching, my friends! Ahhh. How I love anime cons. They've got a DDR competition, Guitar Hero competition, AMV viewer's choice awards, and a cosplay competition. I'll be entering the AMV contest and the Cosplaying contest. 'Cause I look exactly like Neji. Honestly. Minus the y'know...white...eyes. But that's what contacts are for.

Strip Creator
No, you sikkos. It's not some dirty site. You make comic strips. A max of three panels with a pretty big selection of pre-made characters.

Google in...Klingon?
It's exactly like google....except it's in Klingon. Now's your chance to prove to the world of search engines how truly devoted (and devoted I mean insane) you really are!

FutureMe
Send e-mails to yourself...In the future! You may need to check your junk e-mail box for the confirmation letter, to make sure you don't miss out on your e-mail 20 years from now, after you've even stopped using e-mail, because no one'll need it once the whole teleportation thing has been figured out.

Queen Backmasking

Haha. I decided to do a search for this after a friend of mine told me he had played Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" backwards on his grandmothers record player, and lo and behold, he could've sworn it said "It's fun to smoke marijuana" It's kind of surprising how many youtube entries there are for this one song alone, never mind Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" or songs like that. Anyways, enjoy Neeuq's "It's fun to smoke marijuana."

Extra Strong

Paper fighting. See? That's exactly what our ancestors had in mind when they created the internet. Pointless videos of paper fighting. Ahh. The joy of YouTube.

Videos, Puzzles, Games & Other Things to Keep You Entertained

Nintendo Gameboy Emulator
Remember the days of the Gameboy Color? Now enjoy all those games on your computer! Complete with 30 gameboy-tastic games! Now you can watch Frogger be run over on your computer screen, too! Funn.

SuPuzzle
All you have to do is connect each supplier to each house. Easy, right? Hardly. This game is evilll. I've basically spent all my waking time trying to figure this thing out. And I did finally get it....But I think it's time to go do something "normal"...You know. Eat, sleep, bathe. That kind of thing.

The Backwards Sketch
A sketch that plays both forwards and backwards. It's got some aliens and some angry roomates, and that's about I could pull out of it...BUT IT PLAYS FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS!!! HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!

Cannibal Corpse Loung Music

Sooo my kind of music. "Rape the limbless cadaver..." Don't worry, man. It's my favorite lyric, too.

Prangstgrup - Reach!

Hahaha. Gotta be on my list of funniest pranks ever. Just because he had the balls to stand up in the middle of class and do this. I sure wish our classes were this entertaining.

Schoool's Out. For. Summer!

School. Is. Out. Which means I am most certainly one happy camper. So I decided to make a new post, now that I have all this freetime on my hands...

heliumkidd's Sheet Music
Wow. Just found that today. Tons of great sheet music for all you musicians to enjoy. Most of it is videogame soundtracks, but there is some other stuff there, too. Like, my personal favorite, Dark of the Matinee by Franz Ferdinand. Yayyy.

Troyis
This is a game my friend got me hooked on...It's too bad I suck at it...But anyways, it's a puzzle game that uses the knight (from a game of chess) to see if you can jump to all of the white squares in a specific amount of time. Quite addicting.

ZZ Top Sharp Dressed Man with Puppets

haha. You gotta love the puppets.

Wine in the Afternoon - Franz Ferdinand
